🧂 About Summa Salts
Summa Salts is a woman-owned artisan seasoning company based in Jacksonville, Florida, making bold, herb-packed seasoning salts with real ingredients.
We make blends using garlic, citrus zest, garden herbs, and locally grown produce — the kind of ingredients you can taste (and smell) the second you twist the grinder. No filler vibes. No weird powders. Just full-flavor salts that make everyday food feel like you know what you’re doing.
Every jar is handcrafted by Sarah McElrea (aka The Salt Lady), a former science teacher who turned her love of plants, food, and community into a business. We grow many of the herbs ourselves or buy directly from farmers — then we blend, bottle, and pack in small batches.
We’ve been featured on local TV and podcasts, and we’re proud to be recognized by Slow Food First Coast with the Snail of Approval for values like community involvement, sourcing, and environmental impact.
🌿 How it started
We got our start selling salts at local markets and gifting jars to friends. The farmers market community shaped everything: the flavors, the standards, and the way we build relationships with customers. Now we ship nationwide and supply some of Florida’s best small shops and restaurants — but we still show up like we always have.
✨ What makes us different
- 🌿 Fresh, whole ingredients (not powdered flavoring)
- 🔥 Slow-baked salts with real depth, color, and aroma
- 📦 Handmade in small batches, packed in refillable grinders
- 👩🌾 Grown, blended, and bottled by real people (not machines)
